Lived at 73 Sandy Lane our back garden/jungle for what it was ran parallel to the bakehouse wall, the wall never froze in minter in fact you could warm your back on it. I actually remember making a garden alongside the wall and growing Sunflowers which seemed to grow forever, I must have been 8 or 9 at that age 6′ was tall, I think the heat from the wall may have helped, not being a gardener anymore ha ha I really don’t have any idea.
Harold Tasker was still baking excellent pies and pasties well into the 1960s. He was using a van by then!
